First Majestic Silver’s La Parrilla Silver Mine has been awarded the ‘Safest Mine’ award for 2006 in the category of Underground Mines with less than 500 workers. The award was granted by the Mexican Chamber of Mines as part of their annual review of mining operations throughout Mexico. The trophy will be given to the company during the Inauguration Ceremony of the XXVII International Mining Convention on October 10, 2007, in Veracruz, Mexico.First Majestic was “very pleased” with this recognition from industry leaders in Mexico. The company said it took its responsibilities at each of its three operating silver mines in Mexico very seriously. “In addition to the high levels of safety management strives to achieve; the company has also launched several social programs in the communities it operates in.
